town hall II
The "Ossenschaul"
The current administration building (town hall) in Kirchenstraße has its own interesting history. This former school building was erected in 1832. The necessary timber had to be brought in from distant forests. As money was scarce, the farmers transported the timber with their ox teams. In return, they did not have to pay school fees for their children. This is how the name Ossenschaul, or ox school in High German, came about.
