Art in the park

The "kunst.PARK - cultural tourism and identity creation in rural areas" project transports art out of the museum & into nature. The newly created works of art serve as mediators for long-term networking between players from the worlds of art, culture, business and tourism. The green heart of the town of Schwaan lies behind the art museum - nestled between the banks of the Warnow and Beke rivers. Almost unnoticed, the park slept a long slumber and has been revived in the spirit of the former Schwaan artists' colony. Contemporary artists present the vibrant art world of Mecklenburg with their sculptural works and set modern accents in the dreamy landscape. This bridge to the present has created a space for encounters that invites visitors to linger quietly and enjoy cultural events. "kunst.PARK" is an initiative of the art museum together with the town of Schwaan. And, of course, with the artists, who played a key role in shaping the park by lending their sculptures and their personal commitment. "kunst.PARK" was funded by the European Social Fund.
