Natalia Ehwald

Natalia Ehwald is the poet among the German pianists of her generation, captivating audiences and critics alike with her musical intensity and captivating energy. "... like an improvisation created from sweat and inner fervor, yet disarmingly natural and played straightforwardly," wrote the Tagesspiegel after a concert.

In her broad repertoire, she has a special love for Schubert and Schumann. This is exemplified by her two highly acclaimed CD recordings on the GENUIN label.

In the coming season, the young pianist will be performing Schumann's piano concerto in the Cologne Philharmonie under Jörg Peter Weigle, a concert and master class in New York and the continuation of her Schubert concert series in Berlin at the Piano Salon Christophori.

Natalia Ehwald has performed with orchestras such as the Radio Symphony Orchestra Warsaw, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra Lodz. She has enjoyed great success at concerts in the Berlin Philharmonie and Konzerthaus Berlin, the Hamburg Musikhalle and at festivals such as the Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker and Puplinge Classique Geneva. Concert tours regularly take her throughout Europe, Asia and America.

Natalia won national and international competitions early on, such as 2nd prize at the music competition of the Kulturkreis der Deutschen Wirtschaft, 1st prize and special prize at the Robert Schumann Competition for Young Pianists in Zwickau, 1st prize at the International Greta Erikson Competition in Sweden and the "Prize for Special Creativity" at the International Seiler Competition in Greece.

After attending the special school for music "Schloss Belvedere" in Weimar, she transferred to the Sibelius Academy Helsinki (class of Erik Tawaststjerna) at the age of 16. She probably received the most important artistic impetus from Evgeni Koroliov, in whose class she passed her concert exam with distinction.

She has made radio recordings in collaboration with NDR-Kultur, Deutschlandfunk and Polish Radio.
