Jubilate, summer concert of the "vocal collegium rostock"

The program includes motets by Johann Sebastian Bach and Orlando di lasso. Melodies from the musical "Les Misérables.

The "vocal collegium rostock" will delight the audience with secular and traditional singing on July 14, 2024 at 17:00 in the University Church in Rostock under the overall direction of Daniel Arnold.

The program includes motets by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 to 1750) and Orlando di Lasso (1532 to 1594). Orlando di Lasso was the most famous composer and conductor of the Renaissance during his lifetime. Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 to 1750) is the most prominent representative of the Bach family of musicians and is regarded today as one of the best-known, most prolific and most important musicians. The vocal collegium presents, among other things, 3 chorales from the sacred motet "Jesu bleibet meine Freude".

The audience can also look forward to melodies from the musical "Les Misérables", according to artistic director Daniel Arnold.

The "vocal collegium rostock" was founded in 1955. Its repertoire ranges from traditional songs to sacred choral music and musicals. The "vocal collegium rostock" has performed in St. Petersburg, Strasbourg, Riga, Vienna, Brussels, Barcelona and Gdansk. In June 2022, the "vocal collegium rostock" fulfilled its dream of bringing "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff to the stage in Rostock and Wismar. In the summer of 2023, the "vocal collegium rostock" performed Karl Jenkins' "Symphonic Adiemus" in Rostock and Greifswald to great acclaim.
